Soviet Propaganda Art

During the post WW2 era, the Soviets produced many posters to educate their citizens on multiple subjects. These were often about the power and glory of communism or the safety of the citizens. These posters now offer us an invaluable insight into the communist era information channels, lifestyle and issues of the day.

Many Soviet posters (along the bottom border) contain information as to the artists, author/editor, cost of the publication, printers, circulation numbers and the government committee approving the release of the poster.

Many older posters have either been destroyed or suffered poor condition over time.
