Macmillan & Krushchev: "Now let one of yours go..."
This is an original 1958 illustration from 'Punch' magazine by Leslie Illingworth titled "Now let one of yours go... I dare you".
The print is in excellent condition considering its age.
The print is 22 x 29 cm (approx 9 x 11 inches or c.A4) in size.
The illustration depicts the break up of the British Empire (and world power) requesting the Soviet Union to do the same in relation to nuclear disarmament. In early 1958 tensions between the East and West started as Soviet power grew and the British Empire was broken up. The East would not agree to calls for nuclear disarmament and so the 'Cold War' began. This lead to the Berlin crisis later in the year.
