This is an original Soviet poster from 1984 titled "1966-1971 The Foreign Political Activities of the USSR on the Release of International Tension and the Strengthening of the World".
This poster is part of a collection of 11 posters called “LENIN’S FOREIGN POLITICS - POLITICS OF THE WORLD”. The poster depicts the Central State Archive of Film and Photo Documents of the USSR.
The poster is in excellent condition considering its age.
There were only 15,000 copies of this poster circulated by the Kiev Publishing House of Political Literature of Ukraine. The poster is 27 x 41 cm (approx 11 x 16 inches or c.A3) in size. The print is mounted ready for your favourite frame. The mounted size is 40.8 x 50.8 cm (approx 16 x 20 inches or c.A2).
The rough translation is: "The Soviet Union and its brother socialist countries have made a big contribution to fight in favour of peace and security for its citizens. The international position of our motherland became even more realible, the role od socialism in the world increased. I.A. Materlanov in the XXIV Congress of the CPCE. 1st July 1968. Developed on the basis of the Soviet Prospect, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty was signed in Moscow, Washington and London by representatives of the USSR, the United States and England. 19th SEPTEMBER 1969, the Soviet Union submitted to the XXIV session of the UN General Assembly a proposal not to adopt an appeal to all states of the world on the issue of strengthening international security. In 1969 The USSR and the socialist countries spoke at the XXIV session of the UN General Assembly with a draft 'Convention on the Complete Banning of Chemical and Bacternological Weapons'. 11th FEBRUARY 1971. In Moscow, Washington and London, the signing of the 'Treaty Banning the Placement of Nuclear Weapons and Other Types of Weapons of Mass Destruction on the Bottom of Seas and Oceans and in Its Depths' began".
