Hitler & Hindenburg: "Bluff and Iron"
This is an original 1938 illustration from 'Punch' magazine by Bernard Partridge titled "Bluff and Iron". The illustration depicts the ghost of the former president Paul von Hindenburg over-looking Hitler following the final elections to the Reichstag.
The print is in excellent condition considering its age.

The region known as Schleswig-Holstein had always been contended between Denmark and Germany. Following the death of President Paul von Hindenburg in 1934 Hitler became President of Germany. Hitler retained his title of Chancellor but abolishes the office of President, to become 'Fuhrer'. Hitler in 1938 then calls a final election where his Nazi party win all seats in the Reichstag.
